Sidonie's story

Born in 1984 in Cotonou, economic capital of Benin, K. Sidonie is married to AGBOKI Janvier, a carpenter. The couple has three children, some of whom are in school. About ten years ago Sidonie settled in the Fifadji neighborhood of Cotonou, where she lives with her children and husband. The couple pays the various family expenses jointly.

Sidonie has never been to school. To meet her expenses, she sells corn. She also prepares and sells corn mash as a street vendor. She gets her supplies in Dantokpa, international market of Benin.

Sidonie has been in business for about three years, and has already received two loans through ALIDé, which she has fully repaid. In order to build up her business and better meet the various needs of her customers, Sidonie is seeking a third loan.
