A loan of $1,350 helps to buy disposable and Icopor (polystyrene) items such as plates, cups, cutlery and more.

Juan Guillermo's story

Juan Guillermo is a 39 year old micro-businessman. He is a resident of the city of Barranquilla where he lives with his wife. He has a business selling disposable items (items made of Icopor (polystyrene) and disposable items for household use) located in the Vía al Mar area. He started this work approximately one year ago with the desire to generate the income that would help him give a better quality of life to his family. He sells products such as cups, plates, cutlery and other items in Icopor and plastic.

His goal is to revive his sales at his business with new inventory and to have two regional distribution sites. His customers are restaurants and neighbors in the area. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic that has occurred worldwide, his earnings have fallen drastically so he is currently requesting his first Kiva loan through the Mario Santo Domingo foundation to increase his working capital and to invest in disposable and Icopor items such as plates, cups, cutlery and more.
