A loan helped a single woman borrower with good credit to buy farm inputs to improve her productivity, increase profits, and support her children until they finish school.

Esther's story

Esther is a 41 year old single mum of 4 school-going children who is practical and resourceful. Faced with unemployment, Esther started practicing mixed farming, growing maize and keeping dairy animals. She is a hardworking farmer who has been farming for the past many years. Esther has gained much experience through those years and has been able to earn a decent and honest income. It is through her perseverance and courage that her children have a respectable life.

Although Esther has been making profits through farming, not everything has been easy for this humble and industrious mother. Her farm has not been producing an optimal harvest because of the lack of fertilizer and good seeds, and the presence of pests and diseases.

Hence, Esther she is seeking a loan of 70,000 KES to be able to buy farm inputs. Through the loan, Esther will be on her way to a bumper harvest, and this will translate into more profits and cash. Through the use of good seeds and fertilizer, Esther will reap more crops, which will assure her of comfortably taking care of her family and repaying the loan.

Esther’s plan is to be able to increase her farming and to be able to save more money so that she can buy more land for farming.
