A loan of $1,350 helps to purchase soft drinks, water, bread, snacks, and everything needed to stock her business.

Yomaira's story

Yomaira is a 61-year-old, enterprising small business owner. She is a resident of the city of Barranquilla, where she lives with her spouse and her two children in their own house. She has a refreshment stall business located in the center of the city. She offers refreshments, such as soft drinks, bread, snacks, etc. She has had this business for approximately five years.

Thanks to the support of her spouse, she decided to set up her own business, with the idea of generating income to help with the household expenses. Her customers are passersby, friends, and referrals. Yomaira’s goal is to invest in an inventory of merchandise to attract more customers and increase her income. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, she had to suspend her work, and her income diminished drastically for health reasons.

She is currently arranging her first Kiva loan, through Fundacion Mario Santo Domingo, to increase her working capital and invest in the purchase of merchandise, such as soft drinks, water, bread, snacks, and everything needed to stock her business. Support her with a loan for her business.
