A loan of $250 helped buy soap, milk, cookies, pasta, eggs, etc.

B. Catherine's story

B. Catherine L. was born 25 November 1982 in Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin. Married to Sylvain ADJAMONSI, a technician, Catherine is the mother of two children, of whom one is attending school. For the past three years she has been living with her family in the Agblangandan borough, in the Sèmé-Podji commune. Catherine helps her husband by sharing responsibility for various family expenses.

Catherine has attended school up to secondary level, but began four years ago to sell various products from her home (eggs, milk, canned tomatoes, sardines, peanut flat-cakes, plastic pouches, soap, matches, etc.). She also sells cookies as a side business.

Catherine has already been granted one loan from ALIDé, which was fully repaid. She is now requesting a second loan, as she wishes to increase her stock of supplies and the number of customers.
