A loan helped us to grow a professional fashion community in our region.

Polina's story

I'm a serial entrepreneur and seasoned creative professional. In 1995, my husband and I launched Chalkguy Media International, a media company that provides speaking and consulting services. In 2005, I launched a commercial photography business, which in a strange twist of fate led to me being one of the founders of 501c3 non-profit, PATTERN, in 2010, and becoming the Editor-in-Chief of PATTERN magazine, in 2012.

At the helm of PATTERN and PATTERN magazine, I've produced 150+ events, mentored 75+ interns, published 16 issues of PATTERN magazine, and led 80+ campaigns and projects for culture and community-oriented companies and brands.

As a commercial photographer, I've shot hundreds of portraits, and dozens of lifestyle campaigns, for companies big and small.

As an entrepreneurial ecosystem builder, and small business owner, my personal and professional life are dedicated to improving community infrastructure, retooling systems of collaboration and changing cultural economies to create inclusive opportunities for Indy’s creatives and makers.
