A loan helped to buy farm inputs such as fertiliser to enable her to grow more crops.

Everlyne's story

Hello, Kiva community!

Everlyne is 30 years olds and a mother from a remote village in the Kitale area of Kenya. She is a very hardworking person.

Thanks to her daily efforts, she has managed to give her lovely children a good start by providing them with a good quality education.

Everlyne’s primary sources of income are crop, and animal farming. She also earns some income from a personal business. She never had a formal education and is content with the farming lifestyle.

The Kitale area is a favourable area for farming, so she is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs such as fertiliser to enable her to grow more crops, reap maximum profits and increase her crop business.

Being a woman and accessing funds in Kenya, especially in the Kitale area, is very challenging, but Everlyne feels relieved knowing there are institutions such as Kiva that help enterprising women like her.

Her goal is to improve her living conditions and secure the future of her children. Her biggest dreams are to be able to support her family by herself, to become independent and to buy a home.

Everlyne is counting on your help and hopes for your attention.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
