CUSCO, Peru / Restaurant

A loan of $1,075 helped to expand his restaurant.

Paulino's story

Paulino is 41 years old, married, and has 5 adult children and 2 school-age children. He lives in Pichari, located in the jungle of Cuzco, where he has his own house. His parents were farmers their whole lives, but he decided to do something else. For this reason he has a restaurant. However, his whole life has not been full of success. He had moments that were truly very difficult economically when his business was not doing well, but he still persevered. Now he has a lot of customers that provide good earnings. Now he wants to begin agricultural work, specifically by farming cocoa and coffee. He normally works with his wife, but his children sometimes help as well. His work schedule is from 10:00 am until 1:00 am. His future plans are to expand his business by having branches of his restaurant in other places.

This is his fourth loan with MFP, and he is committed to making the payments on time. He also has a good understanding of community banks, and of the responsibility required of each of the members. He will use the money to invest in expanding and improving his restaurant, with the goal of attracting more customers so that they feel more comfortable and satisfied with the service.
