A loan helped to increase the size and range of her stock.

Ayinawu Kamnaba's story

Ayinawu is a 22-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her nuclear family in the Bawku West district of Ghana. Ayinawu runs her own provisions store. With her first Kiva loan, Ayinawu started the business and she used the profit to pay for school exams. Ayinawu is requesting a second loan in order to increase the size and range of her stock. She plans to use the profit she earns to support her family's basic needs. Ayinawu will repay her second loan with ‘social interest’ by volunteering two and half hours per week as a CAMFED Association Sexual and Reproductive Health Guide, leading sessions on sexual and reproductive health, HIV prevention, gender and power dynamics, and personal choices at her local secondary school and in her community.

This loan is special because:

It helps borrowers withstand negative economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
