A loan helped to buy fruits and pay rental fees for selling fruits to increase her income.

Parichat's story

Parichat is a 42-year-old jasmine rice farmer living with her children, who are studying in primary and high school. Aside from cultivating the rice farm, she has rented space in the city for selling fruits to increase her income and support the education for both of her children.

She started the business in 2018, and she learned from her younger sister. During the spread of COVID-19, she encountered many difficulties, but she has never given up. Therefore, to make a living during the pandemic, she applied for a Kiva loan to purchase more watermelon and pineapple and to pay for rental fees for selling the fruits.

The loan is needed for her family and would support the education of her children in a rural area as well.

This loan is special because:

It helps women living in rural areas improve financial literacy and invest in their businesses.
