A loan helped a member to refinance debt and invest capital in her business.

Kuña Katupyry Group's story

The group called Kuna Katupyry was formed with neighbors in the area of the city of Caacupe. They are looking for a way to improve their quality of life, and that of their families. They are in their third cycle of the Committee of Women program.

Ana is one of the members. She works selling empanadas, "milanesas" [breaded cutlets], hamburgers and other types of foods that she herself prepares and sells as a street vendor.

She says that due to the obligatory quarantine because of Covid-19, her sales have fallen drastically, which has forced her to do other types of sales, that being medicinal herbal remedies and/or fruits, such as orange, "mamon" [a fruit similar to lychee], lemon etc., in order to support her household.

Ana is requesting this loan to be able to refinance her debt and invest a bit of capital in her work, since the situation is difficult and she wishes to fulfill her contracted obligations.
