There are 7 K’iche ’Mayan women who make up the“ Emprendedoras ”Communal Bridge Community Friendship Bank and stand out for working hard in their traditional textile, prepared food, fruit and vegetable sales businesses. Because Lucia and her friends in the group have little or no formal education, they learn a lot in the monthly meetings on one aspect of 4 topics: business, health, family, women. They often share what they learn with family, friends, and neighbors. Every two months, women are treated by telephone by nurses from the health program.
