A loan helped additional capital for banana plantation.

Rosalia's story

Rosalia B. is from the village of Del Pilar. She is 65 years old, married and has six adult children. To make a living, Rosalia plants crops. The main source of income for her business comes from selling bananas and cassava she's harvested in the local community. Rosalia has been engaged in her business for over 30 years and earns approximately 3,500 Philippine pesos a month for these activities.

In 2004, Rosalia joined PMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Rosalia has successfully repaid a previous loan of 5,000 PHP from PMPC, a Kiva partner. This previous loan was used as additional capital for her business. Rosalia is requesting a new loan of 10,500 PHP, which will also be used as additional capital. This will be the eighth loan taken out by Rosalia from PMPC.
