A loan of $3,500 helped a member purchase an extractor, a blender and an orange colander for the business.

Caminando Hacia El Futuro Group's story

The "Walking Toward the Future" village bank is composed of 9 enterprising members who live in the Catalina Huanca zone, Ate district, of Lima, Peru. They have worked with EDAPROSPO for the past 3 years and 4 months.

Milagros, a member of the group, is 34 years old and lives with her partner with whom she has 2 children, 3 and 13 years old. She recently became president of the group. For the past 4 years, she has worked selling breakfast to the truck drivers every morning at 6 am; she also sells tamales door to door on weekends. With her hard work, she has been able to purchase a fridge. She dreams of one day having a juice shop.

The loan will be used to buy an extractor, a blender and an orange colander for her work. The members of the group are grateful for the support they are receiving and for the help they've received in forming the Village Bank; they commit to fulfill all their scheduled payments on time.

In this group: Milagros Soledad, Victor Almicar, Amalia, Karin, Johanna Jessenia, Natalia Marissa, Vicki, Monica Roxana, Luis Alberto
