A loan helped to service Yolanda's 0.7 hectares of coffee.

Yolanda Del Rosario's story

Yolanda is a coffee producer from a remote community in the north central area of Nicaragua. Five years ago she began to manage her small farm of 0.7 hectares, all in the coffee sector, which she works with the help of her husband.

Her farm is Fairtrade certified, which means a commitment to her community. In the last three years, it has increased its production, almost tripling it in the last year.

The funds requested will be invested in the purchase of supplies such as Calcium, Zinc and Boron among others.

With the support of her family, she was able to maximize the resources and coffee production on her farm, stabilizing her family situation and supporting the community. This loan will allow her to improve the nutrition of her coffee trees.

This is the first loan processed with PAC.

Translated from Spanish by Kiva volunteer E. Power.

This loan is special because:

It allows farmers to plant trees needed to shade coffee plants.
