Wilma's story

Wilma E. is from the village of Debuloc, Plaridel, Misamis Occidental. She is 49 years old. Wilma is married and has three adult children. To make a living, Wilma raises livestock. The main source of income for the business comes from raising chickens for sale. Wilma has been engaged in her business for over a year and earns approximately 2,000 Philippine pesos a month for these activities.

In 2008, Wilma joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Wilma has successfully repaid a previous loan of 5,000 PHP from GDMPC, a Kiva partner. This previous loan was used to purchase breeding livestock.

Wilma is requesting a new loan of 10,000 PHP, which will be used to purchase baby livestock to raise and sell in the future. This will be the fourth loan taken out by Wilma from GDMPC. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to supplement her family's income.
