A loan of $550 helped purchase tables, chairs, dishes, and kitchen utensils.

Diana Elizabeth's story

Diana C. is 27 years old, single, and lives with her parents in a small house on their own property. While her parents engage in agriculture, Diana sells lunches and snacks. Her parents helped her by providing a place in their house for her to work. Diana’s mother taught her how to prepare flavorful dishes. She has been in this business for four years.

Diana has been a member of the “Progresita” (Progressive) Communal Bank for three loan cycles. The loans she has obtained have helped increase her business gradually. Using the proceeds from her new loan, she will purchase tables, chairs, dishes, and a few kitchen utensils.

This Communal Bank is located in the city of Cuenca, which is considered to be the most beautiful city in the country because of its natural Andean landscapes. Upon entering the city, the site of church domes line the horizon. This historic city is made up of cobblestone streets, meandering rivers, charming wrought iron balconies, and beautiful gardens that contribute to the friendly atmosphere.

Diana’s goal is to continue her studies and obtain her degree in accounting and auditing.
