A loan of $3,525 helped a member purchase and transport guinea pigs.

Sr Cautivo Group's story

These members belong to the communal bank 'Sr Cautivo'. They live in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, in Urubamba province, in the Cusco department of Peru.

Abel was born in the Lares district, Calca province. He finished the fourth year of primary school and couldn't study a career, so from a very young age he worked helping his parents raise his younger siblings. Abel lives with his partner and has 2 small children. He works as a builder in the Rainbow College. In his spare time he works breeding small animals. He buys guinea pigs in Lares and takes them to sell in Urubamba. Abel has a small air-conditioned house to breed his guinea pigs in. He is seeking a loan to purchase more guinea pigs and transport them.

The other members work as plasterers, labourers, artisans, selling dried production, civil construction, selling chicha, breeding small animals, selling sweets, and working in a restaurant. They are all thankful and value the support given by the bank. They promise to meet their debt repayments in the established time period.
