A loan helped return dignity to sexual violence victims & to survive the COVID-19 crisis.

Lisa's story

I was a Army Brat who has lived in many places across the US. My family settled in California and I married very young and was also widowed young. .As a single mother of 3 children I started going to college for the first time at 35 years old. What started as my graduation project for my undergraduate degree quickly grew into a nonprofit that now helps 30-50 victims of sexual violence each day in California. I feel proud that a college project can and does make such a difference in the world.
