El Atardecer Group

A loan of $600 helped a member to buy the ingredients with which to make traditional sweets, in particular caramel, sugar, corn, milk, etc.

El Atardecer Group's story

The El Atardecer group is comprised of three hard working women, one of whom is Iliana Janina L. V., who makes traditional Nicaraguan sweets such as churros (strips of fried dough), and different flavoured caramelised type toppings/fillings, which can be made with coconut, peanut, banana with sugar and cinnamon, papaya, dough, etc. Other members of the group include Martha Lorena V. Rodríguez who, for the past 25 years, has been owner of a convenience store, which has been gradually increasing its client base, and Keylin Julieth L., who has been working for the past three years as a cajetas maker (specialist in caramel toppings/fillings).
