Elsa's story

Mrs. Elsa Jimenez is 50 years old and has been married to Antonio Benitez for 32 years. They have four daughters, all of whom are adults and working professionals, and they raised them with a lot of sacrifices, since they are very humble people and work independently. Elsa makes a living selling typical Paraguayan foods, such as Pastel Mandi'o, which she has done for the last 25 years in the town market of Coronel Oviedo. She learned how to make the product with a lot of gentleness from her mother. With her earnings, she helps and supports her husband economically for the maintenance of their house and the education of their children. She sells more than 300 empanadas each morning, because she has an established clientele and is popular due to the good quality of her product. Fundacion Paraguaya is the first institution to grant her a loan for the type of activity that she performs, for which she is very grateful. She is requesting this loan for the purchase of ingredients such as: flour, eggs, oil, meat, and vegetables.
