Mirriam's story

Mirriam is 47 years old and is married with seven children. They live in a rural community outside Honiara, the capital of Solomon Island. Mirriam wants to start a small bakery business making and selling buns, ring cakes and scones in her community to earn a living.

Mirriam has requested a loan to pay for additional flour, cooking oil, yeast, baking powder, sugar and butter to help start her bakery business. She plans to use her profits to meet her family's weekly expenses and grow her business.

She joined SPBD in 2020 to gain access to financial services and this is her first loan.
