A loan of $1,000 helped buy a water pump to water the rice field.

Kum's story

Kum S., 64, is married and resides with her husband and five children in Kampong Chnang Province, Cambodia, an area known for clay and ceramic products. She is a farmer with an income of about $3 per day. Her husband is a farmer, too, earning an income of $3 per day to help cover the family expenses.

S. is requesting a loan of $1000 to purchase a water pump to water the rice field. In the future, she would like to use any additional profit to repair her house. This is her first loan from CREDIT, a long-standing Kiva partner in Cambodia. S. is pictured with her husband.
