Yenny Maribel's story

Señora Jenny is a member of the communal bank "Av. San Lorenzo" that meets in the city of Calceta, which is know as the city like no other. It's surrounded by marvelous mountainous countyside and a river that attracts the most tourists to the area. The great majority of the inhabitants make a living raising cattle and farming.

Señora Jenny is a member who is very busy with her work. Apart from being a good housewife and excellent mother, she is one of the most sought after seamstresses in the area. She told us that she began the art of sewing when she was very young. Thirty years ago she began making women's clothing like: dresses, blouses, and clothes for children like: shirts, pants, and school uniforms. Our member was born in Junín, a small town near the city of Calceta, where she currently lives. At age 47 she continues with the same work of sewing which has not been hard for her in any way except for when she wants to stop because it's so much responsibility to have to turn in the sewing punctually. There are days she sleeps only two hours and gets up at 4 in the morning and sews for 12 hours and rests a bit and continues on so she can turn the piece in the next day.

Señora Jenny works alone. She doesn't have helpers to rely on. She prefers to do all the work and has professional machines in her home. She does all of the cutting and sewing of pieces of clothing. With this new loan, our member will be able to stock fabrics, buttons, lace, and everything she needs to do the sewing.
