A loan of $625 helped to buy farm supplies.

José Manuel's story

José Manuel C. C., 43, lives with his wife and three children in the La Concepción neighborhood; their two youngest children are in secondary school and their oldest works as a gardener to pay for some of his university expenses like, transportation, food and photocopies.

They have been farmers for the last 21 years and also have a cabinet-making workshop that he inherited from his father that helps him earn income for the daily support of his home. However, his main source of income comes from pineapple farming.

His farming days began thanks to skills his parents imparted to him. Among the basic problems he faces is the lack of support from traditional credit institutions. However, he has gotten help from Afodenic thanks to Kiva funds.

He is asking for this loan for land management so that his crops will be good and subsequent crop sales will provide income for his household either for future investments or for personal expenses.
