A loan helped to pay for the maintenance of his videoke machine and promote his videoke business.

Marvin's story

Marvin is 35 years old and happily married to his wife, Michelle. They are blessed with three children. The family lives in Cabiao, Nueva Ecija, where his children go to school.

For almost seven years now, Marvin has been earning a living by renting out his videoke machine, which is very popular in the Philippines. Videoke differs from karaoke in that singers not only sing along with the soundtrack, but are also being video recorded while performing. He has been a responsible client of Kiva's field partner, Alalay sa Kaunlaran, for about five years.

Marvin has been entrusted with a loan amounting to PHP 30,000 under ASKI’s business loan program. He will use it for repair and maintenance of his videoke machine and also to promote his business. He believes that with the help of ASKI, his business will expand.
