A loan helped to add more products to her tailoring business.

Mukawera's story

Mukawera is a refugee, but more than that, she is a mother and business owner. She has a proven track record of success. Since she opened her tailoring business, it has gained a good reputation in the camp and has a strong base of loyal customers.

It all started in 1996 when Mukawera and her family fled the violence in Congo due to political insecurities. After resettling in one of Rwanda's refugee camps, Mukawera quickly started her business to provide for her family.

After participating in AEC’s business training program, she focused on improving her financial management and increasing sales. Mukawera is requesting a loan to grow her business even more.

This loan will help her to add more products to the tailoring business, offering her community more options, and giving her the opportunity to build a better life for her family through growing her business.

This loan is special because:

It helps refugees launch businesses to rebuild their lives.
