Toktogul is 60 years old, a widow. She has 5 children: 4 daughters and 1 son. All of them are grown and live separately. The client is involved in animal husbandry: breeding and fattening of livestock. Prior to the breakup of the USSR, Toktogul worked as a milkmaid at a collective farm. Then, she started to run this business on her own. The loan will be used to buy cows.

Anarkan is 71 years old. Just like the previous group participant, she is a widow. She lives with her grandson. Together, they run a small home business. The monthly income from animal husbandry is about 45 dollars. The loan will be used for the purchase of sheep that will be sent off to a pasture.

Temirjan is 55 years, married. He has 5 children: the sons are 32 and 28 years old, and the daughters are 27, 25 and 20. Together with his wife, Temirjan have been breeding livestock for 5 years. He also plans to buy livestock, using this loan. The photograph also shows Temirjan’s wife.

Mayramkan is 54 years old. Her husband is involved in passenger transportation. She has 7 children. She plans to use the loan to buy sheep for fattening.
