A loan of $1,000 helped to buy leather and yarn to produce wallets and purses.

Maribel's story

Maribel A. R., aged 39, lives in the municipality of Ilopango, located in the department of San Salvador. She lives with her husband and their two adult children. Her husband and her children work together with her. Maribel owns a leather workshop in which they produce leather wallets, purses and handbags, which they sell in downtown San Salvador. In addition, they produce wallets and purses on request for customers who sell them in the center of the city of Soyapango. Both Maribel and the rest of her family are very hardworking people who always deliver their finished products on time and have been successful thanks to their efforts.

Maribel applies for a loan to buy large quantities of yarn and leather, which well enable her to produce more wallets and purses and thus increase her turnover. This is very important to her and the whole family, since it is their only source of income.
