A loan of $525 helped to buy grains.

Edith's story

Edith, 38, lives in her own home with her husband, Iván, 40, who is a driver and their four minor children.

She has sold raw grains (broad beans and peas) for the last 7 years in the city’s wholesale market. Her business is quite profitable because it generates good profits that allow her to meet, with help from her husband, household expenses.

She says that she doesn’t enjoy having to get up so early every morning but the sacrifice is rewarded by her daily sales. Besides, she can then be free in the afternoon to concentrate on raising her children and doing her household chores.

Edith has many plans for the future, for example: setting up a business in her house that she can tend to in her free time; she also wants to increase production to have larger amounts to sell in the wholesale market.

This is her 5th loan with MFP and she is very grateful to all the people that make the loan possible that will allow her to stay in business. She is also very satisfied with the work in her communal bank because it is quite organized and they don’t fall behind with their payments.

Edith plans to use the requested funds to buy more stock for her business and thus continue selling raw grains.
