A loan of $500 helped to buy pork, chicken, rice, potatoes, sugar and more products to prepare her delicious traditional dishes.

Rosa Leticia's story

Señora Rosa P. is another active associate of the New Future Communal Bank which she joined twelve years ago. She lives in the Cumbe parish where most of the people are dedicated to agriculture and stockbreeding, as it is known for being one of the largest producers of milk. Its people are very hard-working and fight for their ideals. Our associate lives in her own house with four of the five children that she engendered, since the oldest disappeared without leaving a trace eight years ago. Today he would be 27 years old. She recalls that he left work and never returned. She has sought for him in all possible ways, even beyond her resources, without having any favorable answer, but she has hope of seeing him again some day. Also it gives her a lot of pain to recall that her husband passed away at the same time due to a heart attack. She supports her son, age 23, with his studies at the University of Cuenca, where he studies to be a teacher of physical education, while the other three are still students in the local secondary school.

Rose is 52 years of age and works in a restaurant on her property. She offers roast pork, cascarita, stew, and more delights of the region. She labors in her business every day without resting even one day. She begins her activities at 10 AM and finishes her day at 8 PM. She has run her business for twenty years, thanks to the support that she has received from her family. With the new loan she has requested she will invest in the purchase of pork, chicken, rice, potatoes, sugar and more products to prepare her delicious traditional dishes.

Her goal is to continue growing her business which provides a living for her family.
