A loan of $1,200 helped to make containers and labels for his blackberry juice, jam and yogurt.

Diego's story

Diego Portugués is a gentleman of 27 years that lives with his wife in a community of Costa Rica called Buena Vista de Rivas de Pérez Zeledón. This community is known for being located in the Valley of the General. Its main economic activities are stockbreeding, agriculture, tourism and commerce. The last two have grown to a large extent offering new work opportunities.

For many years Don Diego has been part of an industrial project based on the production of products from fruits of the area, especially blackberries, from which they produce juice, jellies and yogurt. From the start this project has been very successful, assures Diego.

Due to the strong demand and the importance of sustainable development in this zone, he needs a credit of 666,000 (six hundred sixty-six thousand colones) for the financing of a project that consists of making containers and labels for their products.

Don Diego is an associate of the Business of Communal Credit VISTABAN S.A, one of the 100 associated organizations of EDESA in Costa Rica. This will be his second loan and with it he expects to continue growing on an economic and personal level. Also he emphasizes that, thanks to this type of organization and their facilitating of credit, his business has been successful.
