A loan of $700 helped the purchase of a cow and seeds.

Marcelina's story

At 29 years of age, Marcelina is married to Javier who is 33 years old. They have 3 children and live in their own home located in the town of “Tongo” in Tarma.

She is very proud of the success she had made up to this point, and now even more because her husband is always there to support her. They have been farming for 10 years with the hopes of offering a better future to their children: “What I want the most in life is for my children to do better than myself, most of all for them to become professionals.”

She enjoys growing their products such as lettuce, potatoes, peas and corn. She also enjoys taking care of the animals they own.

For the future she wishes to grow a greater amount and purchase her own land since she does not want to grow on rented farmland.

This is the second loan she has with MFP and wants to request more which is why she is punctual with every payment. She also likes working with her communal bank because it consists of responsible people who desire to make progress. With the loan she will purchase a cow, a can of lettuce seeds, and the rest will be for the worker’s payments.
