A loan of $4,375 helps a member to buy wholesale supplies of charcoal, boosting her starting capital.

Nia Moja Group's story

Suzana is a client at IMF Hekima and is a member of the "Nia Moja" banc villageois. She is a 62-year-old widow and has three children, all of whom are in school. Her partner is a public official.

Suzana sells charcoal at a warehouse, a business she began 12 years ago with seed capital provided through renting her house. She later got involved with the Hekima program to support her business and, in conjunction with them, the business has gradually evolved. With this latest loan, she is going to buy wholesale supplies of charcoal which will boost her starting capital. The challenge she faces in her business is unpaid debts.

She would like her children to continue to go to school and to feed her family. Lastly, she would like to thank Hekima and their partners for the financial support they give to business owners unable to qualify for bank loans. Some clients have preferred to be photographed with their children.

In this group: Suzana, Jeanne, Yvonne, Gilbert, Florance, Furaha, Elisabeht, Honorine, Louise, Justin, Philippine, Lea, Sangi, Rebeca, Solange, Emilienne, Alphonsine, Chantal, Elizabeth
