A loan of $3,075 helped a member to buy new retail merchandise to help her in her quest to go wholesale.

Wakiso Women's Group, Lugazi's story

Cotrida N. is a good-humored 43-year-old married woman with seven children who take after her character. She has a pedigree of not being half-hearted in whatever she gets her hands on. It’s for that reason that her eight-year-old retail shop in Wakiso is a melting pot of customers intent on partaking of her good service and bonafide goods.

Cotrida has been downright hardworking ever since she began her business. Her high spirited children are now all in school as a result of her devotion to her work. In a month she makes profits amounting to 150,000 shillings.

Cotrida’s dream is to broaden her business to become a wholesale operation. With this loan she wants to buy retail merchandise, to wit: flasks, flashlights, exercise books and sugar.
