Hassan is a driver in the small township of Masindi, Uganda. He is married to a teacher and together they have three children aged seven, five, and three years. He has a vehicle which he uses in his transport business and he has operated it for five years now. He says you need to be a hard-working person to succeed in the transport business in Uganda, especially with small vehicles like Hassan’s.
Hassan has, however, been able to build his own house from the profit from the business and he hopes to buy a new good vehicle in future for his transport business. For now though, he wants to use the loan funds to buy a second-hand vehicle for his transport business.
