A loan helped a member to purchase the ACE-1 hybrid energy system for cooking, lighting and charging in a way that is safer, cleaner and saves money.

Hauoang Group's story

Masuoane is a 81-year-old woman who lives in separated huts, without access to electricity, with 7 children. Masuoane relies on a pension fund and struggles with buying multiple fuels and insufficient income. She spends the most amount of her energy expenses on mobile phone charging, candles, paraffin and gas, which costs up to LSL 262 per month. She also spends as much as 2 hours per day gathering fuel and fulfilling other energy needs like phone charging. Masuoane and the other members of the group in this village each bought the ACE 1 cookstove to help them save the money they spend every month on fuel and also help them access solar electricity for charging their mobile devices any time for free. The ACE 1 clean cook-stove is biomass and solar powered. For more information on the ACE1 cook stove please visit www.africancleanenergy.com and Facebook @African Clean Energy.
