A loan of $275 helped do maintenance on the motortaxi.

Irma's story

Irma belongs to the "Virgin Mary of Inquilpata" community bank of the Arariwa Association. The community bank has functioned for four cycles.

Irma is 20 years old and lives in the community of Inquilpata in the Anta district of the Cusco region. Her main economic activity is raising animals and them selling them at the Country Fair of the Rural Community of Inquilpata-Anta on Thursdays. Her husband offers transportation services in his motortaxi (a motortaxi is defined as a "a motorcycle with three wheels and a roof that is used as a popular means of transport for short trips" in exchange for money, in the same form as a taxi).

Irma is a hard-working and entrepreneurial young woman who always looks for opportunities to advance and aid her family with her daily effort. She needs the loan to do maintenance on the motortaxi. She says that she is happy and satisfied with the credit, savings, and training services that the Association offers.

Irma is grateful for the opportunity offered through the loan and promises to make the payments on schedule. The community of Inquilpata is an hour and ten minutes from the city of Cusco.
