Samorn's story

Samorn is 44 years old and an experienced farmer from Kok Trom Ka village of Pou Rieng, Prey Veng. She lives together with her husband and three children, while her oldest child lives separately with her new family. Samorn owns a few plots of land, where she manages to cultivate rice and other seasonal crops to earn a living.

With little income from farming, Samorn hasn’t been able to save enough money to care for the needs of her family, so at this time she is asking for a loan of USD 1,500 to buy a piece of land to expand her farming area and improve farming productivity. Realizing the importance of the income that Samorn gathers from agribusiness, the loan will greatly assist Samorn to enlarge the farm and ensure a better life for her family.

In the future, she aims to renovate her old house and push her children to continue studying at university.
