A loan of $1,000 helped tables, chairs and pots.

Yine Ecuador's story

Yine Villacrés, who is 37 years old, lives in the urban area of Guasmo de Guayaquil. His house is located in a very commercial area. His has a cement home, and he does enjoy all the basic services. His wife helps him in his food stand, and they have two children who attend public school.

Yine has had his food stand for 15 years. He started it outside his home with a table and a few chairs. (In the well-known areas of Ecuador, it is quite common that people will put out tables and chairs in front of their homes to sell food). Little by little his costumer base increased, and he earned more income.

Currently, he is in the same stand but with more seats and more customers. The most popular plate he sells is "encebollado," (a dish made of fish, vegetables and cassava). He works together with his wife, starting at 6:00 am.

With the loan, he wants to purchase tables, chairs and pots for his food stand. In the future, he wants to have his own place of business and to then be able to purchase a car.
