A loan helped a member to buy hybrid seeds and fertilizer for farming maize.

Stephen's Group's story

Stephen is 28 years old, married and has two children. He likes to think of himself as a very reliable person. He has farmed for seventeen years and is now proud to represent his group of eight farmers in Teso District.

Stephen has been working alongside One Acre Fund since 2018 and decided this loan cycle to represent his group because he wants to gain leadership skills. He says that being part of the One Acre Fund community has meant that he has been able to consistently feed his family. Stephen plans to use the profits from this coming season to pay his children’s school fees.

Stephen’s group of farmers will receive inputs to cultivate 5.75 acres of land. One farmer will also receive a solar light as part of this program.

In this group: Stephen, Alice, Alice, Priscilla, Mercy , Seth, Patrice, Patrick
