Succès Plus Group's story

Germaine B. is 41 years old, married and has two children aged 13 and 16. She joined one of Hope’s groups named “Succès Plus” (a DRCongo microfinance program) in April 2009 and is the leader of that group which consists of 38 members. Thanks to Hope’s loans, the group members’ businesses have prospered.

Germaine has been active in her business since 1982. She runs a sewing workshop and sells sewing accessories to the east of Kinshasa. She is dedicated to her business which generates a profit of $200 per month. Her business is the only source of income which she has to support her family. Germaine has already received and successfully repaid four loans. She is planning with the coming loan to purchase sewing accessories of good quality that are needed by her clients in order to generate more profit. Her dream is to open a sewing center in her locality.
