Wan Word Group's story

Mariatu B. (on the right in the photo) is the leader of this group. She is a 39-year-old woman who lives in Makeni, a city in northern Sierra Leone, with her husband and three children. Fatu has been selling fish, pepper, onions, magi (used to give sauce a sweet taste, like boullion cubes), tomatoes, etc. for many years now.

She has requested a loan of SLL 500,000 from SMT, a Kiva field partner, to expand her business by buying fish, pepper, onions, magi and tomatoes in wholesale quantities to add to her current ones. This is the first loan that members of the "Wan Word" group have requested from SMT/Kiva lenders.

In this group: Mariatu , Fatmata, Isatu, Aminata
