A loan helped to buy fixed assets for her business.

Carmen Oleisa's story

Carmen is 50 years old. She lives with her partner and 3 children in Timbiré parish which belongs to Cantón Eloy Alfaro in the province of Esmeraldas. They live in a house that they were able to build thanks to work and dedication.

Carmen has a small shop where she prepares food, mainly breakfast, lunch, and snacks. For many years, she has provided her services to doctors, professors, and authorities in the parish. She has reliable customers.

This work has provided her with resources in order to have sufficient income and be able to cover her family expenses.
Carmen needs financing to buy furniture and utensils for her business. She specifically desires to change the silverware and tables so that she can provide better service to her customers.

Carmen thanks Kiva for financing her business; she is happy with the help offered to her since this gives her the strength to keep going and work every day to earn money in a dignified way.

Translated from Spanish by Kiva volunteer Kendre Barnes.
