Nancy's Group's story

Nancy is 24 years old and has 2 children. She has been a farmer for 11 years and is always described as a very experienced farmer. Even though Nancy is the only one featured in the above picture, she is actually representing her group of 6 farmers in Teso District, Kenya.

Nancy started working alongside One Acre Fund in 2014 because she wanted to earn enough to feed her family. Since then, she has seen her life improve, especially in the sense that she has gained a lot of respect in her community. This year, she decided to represent her group because she wanted to spread the story of One Acre Fund farmers.

Nancy’s Group will receive farming inputs to plant a total of 3 acres of land. Additionally, some of the farmers in the group will be purchasing a solar light, so with this loan, the group will also receive a total of 3 solar lights.

In this group: Nancy, Janet, Eunice, Janet, Mourine, Caleb

This loan is special because:

It supports smallholder farmers to purchase seeds and solar lanterns.
