A loan helped to buy rice, beans, meat, Maseca, bell pepper, onions, tomatoes, and plantains.

Flor De Maria's story

Flor, 47, is a married woman, the mother of three children. She's sociable, responsible, friendly, and hardworking.

She has worked selling food for two years with her husband's help, offering Nicaraguan dishes like picadillo, grilled beef, chicken and rice, soup, and fried plantains with cheese.

Hoping to invest in her new business, she requested a loan from one of the branches of MiCrédito with the support of Kiva to buy ingredients for making her dishes, such as rice, beans, meat, Maseca, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, and plantains.

She plans to expand in the near future and be a restaurant owner.
