A loan helped a member to buy vegetables for resale at the market, and to buy pigs for resale in the neighbouring country.

08-Femmes Catholiques Group's story

This group of 6 women have been members of the "banc villageois" since it was started in May 2008. They do not live in the same neighbourhood but they conduct retail trade together. They are supportive of one another and do well in their trade business.

Madam Marie, who has her hand raised in the picture, is the group's leader. She is 55 years old, married and has 3 children. She also has 2 other dependent children. She is experienced in her business.

With this new loan, she wants to buy vegetables and pigs for resale. The profits from her sales will enable her to cover the schooling and health care costs of her children.

In this group: Marie, Rachelle, Lina, Alanso, Carmelle, Marie
