A loan of $2,450 helped a member working capital.

El Pajonal Group's story

The “El Pajonal” communal bank is represented by Elizabeth and is maD. up of 12 members, 11 women and one gentleman. This bank is characterized by the unity and hard working nature of its members. Elizabeth is married and has two young children who attend school. She sells food in her neighborhood and her husband helps her with the household expenses. He works in public transportation. They live in a small rented house. Elizabeth expects to grow her business little by little and be able to buy some land on which to build a home of their own.

The rest of the group does different things. Most sell food on foot or in fixed locations. One member is a taxi driver, and others sell beauty products through catalogs. The group as a whole has plenty of experience running small businesses and the members are well known at the various fairs where they sell their products. Even though there is a lot of competition in their fields, they can count on their experience and regular customers who know of their businesses and insist on their services. They are also very enthusiastic about what they do.

They will use the money from this loan to proviD. working capital, to buy tools and supplies, in order to improve their work. Miguel will use his portion to buy repair parts for his vehicle.

The group will continue to work and take advantage of this financing in order reach their goals. The bank has plenty of experience with loans, as this is not the first time that they have borrowed money; however this will be first loan through our institution. The group has already demonstrated that its members are responsible and punctual.
