A loan of $1,700 helped a member purchase computers.

Sarita Colonia Group's story

The “Sarita Colonia” Communal Bank consists of eight enterprising members who live in the Chosica area of the Department of Lima. They have been working with EDAPROSPO-Prosperidad for a year and two months.

Rigoberto is a member of the group. He is 51 years old, married, and has three children. Two of them are adults and one still lives with him. Rigoberto was elected the group president five months ago. Three years ago, he decided to provide Internet booths for rent. He originally started a video game center and his wife manages a high school cafeteria. Through his hard work, Rigoberto was able to build and improve his home. He has already grown as a micro-entrepreneur by acquiring more computers. Rigoberto’s greatest wish is to continue growing and eventually open a call center (where he offers phones lines for rent). His loan will be invested in his business by purchasing additional computers. He appreciates the support and initiative of his Communal Bank and promises to complete his payments by the established deadlines.
