A loan helped to cover higher education costs.

Mari-Anne's story

Mari-Anne is a student of medicine and is applying for a loan to cover her education costs. This is her story: My name is Mari-Anne, I am 19 years old. I live with my parents and two younger sisters. My mother has a degree in accounting and my father reached university level. At this time only my mother works. I am studying medicine at the UCATECI university and have finished 20 subjects to date, my favorites of which have been biology I and biology II and their corresponding laboratory studies. I very much enjoy learning from the structure and functioning of living beings and everything related to medicine. From a very early age I showed aptitude and a desire for medicine. To be a doctor has always been what I have wanted to be.

I was raised in a humble family with scarce economic resources which was a situation that kept my parents from continuing to cover my university expenses. This loan represents my opportunity to achieve my goals and train to be a professional, changing not only my life but also that of my family.

My goals are to become a good doctor who contributes to her community and country, to train as a good professional and fight for a health system that attends to all in need, without distinction. Also, to transform the health system into a more humane service.
